Each and every day going round and round and round Deep deep deep in a deep of time Gonna pick what’s left of my big britches off the ground And kiss my self goodbye I’ll dust off my boots and take my saddle off the wall And lead my pony up into the starry night Gonna lasso the man in the moon and put him in my pocket Surf the solar wind and fly so high Hoofbeats a-pound Hear the lonesome cry Leading me out, out of the deep of time Deep of time

Trailblazer 04:26
Uncle Bee’s plane fell from the sky Giving up his life so others wouldn’t die Prophet’s gonna follow that shining light Reaching for the answers in the astral heights Gotta get clean in the face of the lies Gotta do what’s right before she says goodbye Trailblazer you’ll never get what you’re due It’s always next in line who shows it to be true Be the folly that becomes the norm Few see the light in the middle of the storm Be the folly that becomes the norm Few see the light in the middle of the storm Trailblazer Hell-raiser Game-changer Who sees the way in the middle of the storm? Everyone sees what they want to see Corrections made where it’s easy All we need is a good clean fight Man’s just got to demand his rights But what are rights when everything’s lost Keep pushing that line until there’s nothing to cross So let’s tie a ribbon around the old yew tree To learn where we’re going and who we used to be A sigil for our journey from this world to the next In the belly of the woods I changed my flesh At the shimmering lake my soul was burned The wheels of the land are about to turn Trailblazer Hell-raiser Game-changer Who sees the way in the middle of the storm? Protector Creator Objector Who sees the way in the middle of the storm

Pourquoi m’as tu cruel Neptune Fait naitre en telle fortune? Et pourquoi Ciel as tu produit L’Aigle carnassier qui me suit

As I lie with you let me lie to you And tell you it'll all be ok From our imaginary sanctuary We push for some better day Free to be scared or scared to be free Meet me in the middle where my two minds meet It’s the law of the land or a land of laws Can’t stand my ground if there’s no ground to stand on Between too much and too little No squabbles no quibbles Meet me in the middle where my two minds meet Walking that tightrope Clinging to nothing but hope Find me on the fine line where my two minds meet Traded paradise for a pair of dice Rolling our blues away But it’s never suffice when you’ve made such a sacrifice Caught in the meaningless game Between too much and too little No squabbles no quibbles Meet me in the middle where my two minds meet Walking that tightrope Clinging to nothing but hope Find me on the fine line where my two minds meet

Run along boys and take a little rest We’re in for it now I must confess So here’s a tall tale to lull you to sleep Full of heroic deeds and daring feats Every step we take is never not on the brink Spinning time through narrow little chinks While more and more light comes shining through In the stories’ comforts we seek refuge Any other problem you’ve got Sure don’t mean a lot If you don’t stick to the script Can’t guarantee you’ll be better off The story is bigger than you When things are amiss in the mist of your mind You don’t feel right any of the time And the gas-lighters keep telling you its fine You’re the one who can’t see the sunshine As the moon’s light comes from the sun Souls lit by joyous communion Just like the new moon with the old moon in her arms The story cradles you from all harm I know who you are So if you want to go far You better be who I need you to be Or this is where we part The story is bigger than you

The best of friends must part some time And why not you and I my love, And why not you and I Look up, look down that lonesome road Hang down your little head and cry my love, Hang down your head and cry The longest train I ever did see Was on that Georgia line my love, Was on that Georgia line Look up, look down that lonesome road Hang down your little head and cry my love, Hang down your head and cry The only girl I've ever loved Is on that train and gone my love, Is on that train and gone Look up, look down that lonesome road Hang down your little head and cry my love, Hang down your head and cry The darkest night I ever saw Was when I left my home love, Was when I left my home
Look up, look down that lonesome road Hang down your little head and cry my love, Hang down your head and cry

Breathe Easy 03:18
Rest cried the sawyer gotta catch your breath
You keep sawing like that you’re gonna catch your death Hum and haw and a woohoohooo
Are you holding the saw or is it holding you? Chikichookochaka chikichookochaka Wolf trees and nurse logs
Bring life back where there was naught Ancient stumps keep sleeping undead
Fed underground in their rootlets Nothing left to do but do the very best we can to breathe easy
Walking in the woods to soothe my bones and calm my fears and breathe easy The saw bites through 150 years
Cutting through time cutting through frontiers Scars of time, rings of eternity
Be still, look at me, what’s old is new eternally Chikichookochaka chikichookochaka Aging spirits on their death-beds
Use mushrooms to settle their debts Storms endured, attacks withstood
Come hell or high water we’ll always head back to the woods Nothing left to do but do the very best we can to breathe easy
Walking in the woods to soothe my bones and calm my fears and breathe easy

In those moments always slipping away
I hear the echo of your voice in my mind, never decay
In those spaces between what we yearn and we possess
There are endless places our heads can rest Call up the Third Eye doctor Get your mind’s eye a vision test Oh Third Eye Doctor Hook me up with some rose colored specs Oh Third Eye Doctor Hook me up with some rose colored specs Glory glory Manny’s made a discovery A hidden door to a land where love runs free Holy Moly he’s found a realm so vast But if he strays too far the door will close behind his back Oh Third Eye Doctor Bear witness to the bare witness in me Oh Third Eye Doctor Help me keep an eye on what I can't see Oh Third Eye Doctor Bear witness to the bare witness in me Oh Third Eye Doctor Help me keep an eye on what I can't see

Plouk Mama 03:55

Like the twin fools who guard the town from no one, from no one
Cayou waits for his time, twiddling his thumbs, twiddly dumb
Setting sail with the anchor down, blowing horns that make no sound
Cayou Stone your world’s about to be undone He think he’s been digging up this earth so long That he’s heard every word, sung every song Between you and me, the heaven of his misery
Is just that he can’t tell right from wrong Cayou Stone Time to beat it on home There’s wood on the fire, dog’s chewing a bone Quit heading out on your own Cayou Stone you gotta shoot for the sun Quit looking for answers in your doldrums If the blind don’t question what the seeing see The grass will turn blue and the sky green Leave no stone unturned until the work is done Conclusions drawn from coincidence Without recognizing your own footprints Quit climbing mountains to tell byzantine lies Stay on the ground and look me straight in the eyes Dear Cayou you’re not the only one in doubt Cayou Stone Time to roll on home There’s wood on the fire, dog’s chewing a bone Quit heading out on your own

The winds blew like they never blew before Barge broke loose hit the bridge and blocked the shore Truck on the highway turned over at top speed Killing a man with its flying debris Wind’s gonna get you Wind’s gonna get you It’s blowing hard from Washington Forecast calls for some kind of commotion I’m a man and I’m not afraid to say, You try to stand up you might fly away Wind’s gonna get you Wind’s gonna get you Wind’s gonna get you Wind’s gonna get you It’s mighty hard to keep your a-footing When the winds of debt are a-toot toot tooting
Gotta pay your bills you ain’t got time To consider what goes on in Washingtine Wind’s gonna get you Wind’s gonna get you Wind’s gonna get you Wind’s gonna get you

Seashells, dried bluebells Faded pictures pinned on the wall Dusty songbooks and travel journals Perfumed letters with words written so dear And I’m trying in vain to hold back the tears At the train station I stare deep into her eyes Time sings me her lullaby Under the tower with the stars shining down She was the sweetest thing I’d ever found At every tick and every tock In every drip and every drop I only see what used to be In every scent in every song In all I’ve built this whole lifelong It’s all lost in an ocean of memory Put down my poor dog, I’m lost in a fog, sleep’s a long lost friend And the raindrops are boring holes in the roof of my head All it takes is the rustling of the leaves blowing by And deep into the daydream I dive In the meadow I look into her eyes Time sings me her lullaby Amid the weeping willow tickling the pond Above the sun pools rippling through the dawn At every tick and every tock In every drip and every drop I only see what used to be In every scent in every song In all I’ve built this whole lifelong It’s all lost in an ocean of memory I’m drowning in the ocean of memory Gluglugluglu….

Will-o-wisps in the wild wood leading me astray Poor night-wanderer with no sense of day Riding up to that high plateau where the sun never sets At the edge of the cliff is the only real peace of mind i can get
Hoofbeats a-pound Hear the lonesome cry Guiding me out, out of the deep of time Deep of time

about

Franco-American artist Cory Seznec is back with his fourth album, Deep of Time. Co-produced with Jean-Etienne Loose and Geoffroy Dauptain of Tonehouse Studio, this new creation was forged during a strange and unprecedented period that turned our lives upside down and that many seem to have all but forgotten. With time on his hands he decided to proceed as he had never done before. Each track was pieced together brick by brick with Loose and Dauptain, first as a demo - which in another era may have become the final product - to facilitate the final recording sessions. A handful of exceptional musicians were then brought on board to add their magic touch: harmonica player David Chalumeau, drummer Raphaël Chassain, pedal steel guitarist Paolo Conti, upright bassist Thomas Garoche, organist Jean-Max Méry, guitarist Daniel Mizrahi, percussionist Renaud Ollivier, sousaphonist/trumpeter Rafgee, violinist-cellist Duncan Wickel..
Deep of Time is a contemplative album that delves into that strange elasticity of experience where everything simultaneously slows down and speeds up, where imaginary worlds replace physical adventures forever lost in time’s gearwheels, where large questions are raised without any clear answers in sight. Through a unique musical universe that draws on American folk, rock and African guitar, Cory expresses his doubts, frustrations and existential crisis in the face of this sudden inertia. All this flows through the dreamlike, playful, melancholy and angry work of an indomitable artist who continues to surprise with his ability to fluidify his influences, transforming them into a musical river that belongs to him alone.

about

Cory Seznec Paris, France

Somewhere between musical wanderer and uncertified ethnomusicologist dwells the artist Cory Seznec and his unique world.
A French-American in Paris, Seznec’s fingerstyle guitar-playing is syncopated, polyrhythmic, cross-pollinated, and idiosyncratic. He also sings, plays old-time banjo, and wades in the deep river of American song.
